A Slurpee is a slushy frozen carbonated beverage sold at 7-Eleven stores.

This summer we could stand it no longer, time to teach the kids what the hell a Slurpee was all about.

Actually we didn't create much drama around the event.

Hot weather and the feeling that a mildly indulgent treat was in order prompted the excursion to the 7-Eleven store.

One child was quoted as saying, "Woo," in a deadpan tone.

Still, no Slurpee liquid was wasted.
