I Am A Character -- No, Really

Every once in a while I'll do an internet search of my name, just to reassure myself that the first thing that comes up isn't the worst thing ever. This is how I found the Internet Movie Database listing of the Austrian film "Flammend."

The main character is Eric Flamm, played by man-with-no-photo Stefan Forester.

I'm not pleased my namesake is involved in a "crusade of hate," but I'm intrigued someone is writing fictional characters named Eric Flamm.

Why Do Rats Put Up With Humans?

I'm always pleased when we open the cage and let the rats roam free and they choose to interact with us. True, we do give them treats from time to time. In the above pictures no treats were used to induce Muktuk to climb onto my shoulder. I like to think the rats enjoy socializing with humans.

Today my son told me about Dennis Prager, an American nationally syndicated conservative radio talk show host. I didn’t know about him because at this stage in my life I seek to view things I actually like, rather than look for media to watch ironically.

The kid explained that Prager appeared in a series of simplistic YouTube videos meant to promote conservative ideology to teenagers.

What made me feel good as a parent was that the kid had discovered a YouTube video genre mocking Prager’s videos. People re-edit the videos in a less-than-respectful manner for an awesome result.

When searching for Prager videos keep in mind “YTP” stands for Youtube poop and signifies a parody video.

I remember when I was a kid, I enjoyed taking old magazines and drawing mustaches and beards with a pen on the famous people. The YTP videos are so much funnier, more creative, and important.
