I am still happily surprised we adopted such an excellent cat (great cat, horrible therapist!) from the shelter based on very limited information. We had no opportunity to interact with him or even see him before taking him home.
There was some euphemism in the above statement. When my wife spoke to the cat counselor "thrive as an only pet" was code that he didn't get along well with other cats. Whatever. We all have our issues.
Now that we are nutty cat people, I understand that every blog post potentially can be about the cat. I try and save the cat posts for the weekend if I can help it.
