Consider all the variables that can be found in a normal ride in an automobile: audio choices; conversation topics; climate controls; reading material; controversial statements of personal philosophy.
Needless to say for the kids one of those variables will go out of whack quickly. As the car ride progresses the probability of someone having a meltdown approaches 1.
As the kids start to lose it the probability of me having a meltdown approaches 1 as well. But at least I can control the radio and temperature (as well as the destination). Age sometimes has its advantages!
