Back in the day, I used to know theories about how language worked, how the meanings of words mutated over time.
Perhaps this gives me greater license to celebrate the more nonsensical aspects of language.
As I've written previously, Ed Davis was an inspiration for scrappy play. Since he left the Blazers we have been searching for another person or concept.
We settled on "Lugtag," which is short for a luggage tag.
The kid and I now yell this at one another before attacking. Why? Who knows. "Language is slippery," may be the best I can come up with.
