Perfect Is The Enemy Of Good For Mosier, Oregon

An upgraded Porta-potty: Better than letting the people go commando but not as good as a permanent facility.
I was biking in Mosier, Oregon, a town with a population of 480. The town gets a lot of bikers and it recently began to fix up its downtown, which has seen better times.

The town built an attractive small park with sculptures, flowers, and picnic tables. Obviously not enough budget for a real restroom but a nice improvement was a sunshade for the porta-potty.

I tell my kids all the time, "Perfect is the enemy of good." This wisdom took a while to evolve into because as a parent I usually want the kids to do their very best.

But every situation doesn't require perfection. Often "good enough" is just fine.

Letting go is the right thing to do sometimes and I often feel happier as a result.
