Smoothie Culture Alive And Well In Soggytown

Smoothie made this summer with cherries.
We have enthusiastically embraced the smoothie-for-breakfast trend, or at least I have.

The idea of blending fruit and other ingredients together is brilliant -- especially if some of the fruit has cosmetic blemishes. Protein powder can be added for extra heft as well.

So far all smoothies made in our kitchen have only included fruit. We have not made the quantum jump into kale or other vegetables. Perhaps next year.

  1. When you say "culture" am thinking you may be adding yogurt to the blend. I like plain yogurt in the smoothie to balance the fruit sugars with a bit of bite.
