Getting Hit Hard

A Seattle sports arena has been turned turned into a hospital.

Pundits and politicians are comparing the virus outbreak to Pearl Harbor and 911 as the US death toll surpasses 10,000. We feel the effects here, we’ve been in quarantine for a month, everything is closed, but it is clear Portland is not suffering the worst conditions.

Consider the number of cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 people.

  • New York City 800
  • Philadelphia County 199
  • Miami Dade County 152
  • Los Angeles County 69
  • San Francisco Country 66
  • Multnomah County (Portland) 29
The weather is getting warmer with sunny days becoming more frequent and with them the hope that we will soon round the corner of this awful chapter.
