Rules Of The Refrigerator Scrupulously Upheld

The Rules of the Refrigerator unambiguously state that when one empties a container of food, that person must then remove the empty container from the refrigerator.

Although the rule has been observed, I can't help but think there is an absurdist joke being played on all who enjoy cherries. How could a person, in all seriousness, leave a single cherry?
